Akkodis is seeking a Senior Engineer for a Contract role with a client in Irvine, CA
. The ideal candidate will provide both strategic and tactical quality support for external manufacturing operations, including supplier quality oversight, root‑cause investigations, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
$34/hour to $43/hour;
The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide risk‑based quality assurance guidance and make independent decisions on quality and compliance issues.
- Lead nonconformance investigations, root‑cause analyses, corrective action development, and supplier issue resolution.
- Provide oversight and escalation support for product quality issues related to external manufacturing.
- Ensure compliant execution of Quality Management System processes including supplier qualification, change control, quality agreements, NCCAPA, and performance monitoring.
- Partner with suppliers and internal teams (Procurement, Operations, R&D, Supply Chain, NPI) to eliminate supply chain risks.
- Lead supplier risk identification activities, conduct risk control plan assessments, and maintain supplier quality agreements.
- Maintain strong communication and relationship‑building with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Ensure tasks are executed following internal safety policies, quality systems, and cGMP requirements.
Qualifications:
- 4–6 years of experience in supplier quality engineering or manufacturing engineering, ideally in medical devices or a regulated industry.
- Strong communication skills with proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
- Strong analytical, root‑cause analysis, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to interpret and follow complex written procedures.
- Medical device manufacturing process knowledge required.
- Experience with EMS, supply chain management, or New Product Development (NPD) methodologies preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree required.

Pay Details:$34.00 to $43.00 per hour
