Your Opportunity
The Senior Structural Project Engineer works independently on small and medium projects and leads larger projects as a team leader for Structural Engineers. The role involves evaluating, selecting, and specifying engineered systems or products for a project.
YourKey Responsibilities
- Independently complete calculations and drawings for small and medium projects
- Develop job‑specific specifications independently for less complex projects
- Lead junior engineers on complex projects
- Work with and coordinate architectural interiors and other engineering disciplines
- Perform Construction Administration duties, including field observation reports, responding to RFIs, submittal reviews, and evaluating contractor change orders
- Perform calculations using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software
- Communicate design issues and solutions with the design team and owner clients
- Understand industry standard design processes and construction methods
- Work within project scope, budgets, and design approach to deliver projects on time, on budget, and with high client service
- Assist with development of design standards
- Requisite knowledge and application of structural design codes, standards, and applicable building codes
- Strong knowledge of structural systems, seismic design, construction methods, materials, and industry standards
- Ability to communicate concepts and ideas verbally and in written form to architects, engineers, and owner clients effectively
- Ability to check the work of others for accuracy and completeness and manage time to meet project budget and schedule
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work effectively both independently and in team settings
- Ability to participate and collaborate in project team settings and engage in creative and critical thought
- Possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record
- Minimum 6 or more years of related experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required;
Master’s degree preferred - Professional Engineering license is required;
Structural Engineering license is preferred - Experience with modeling software (Autodesk Revit)
- Experience with general business software (Microsoft Office suite)
- Experience with industry standard Structural Engineering software (CSI, RISA, RAM, etc.)
