Yoh has an exciting contract opportunity for a Supplier Quality Engineer to join our aerospace and defense technology client.
Key DetailsTitle: Supplier Quality Engineer
Compensation: $110k - $128k base + bonus (base salary depends on experience)

Responsibilities- Partner with internal teams and external suppliers to evaluate, monitor, and improve supplier quality performance.
- Lead resolution of supplier‑related nonconformances to prevent production disruptions and customer impact.
- Drive root cause investigations and corrective action processes, ensuring timely and effective closure.
- Review and approve supplier corrective action responses, prioritizing based on business and operational impact.
- Identify supplier risks related to product quality or safety and escalate appropriately.
- Support supplier development initiatives, including training and continuous improvement efforts.
- Act as a technical expert for supplier‑related quality concerns and provide guidance on complex issues.
- Analyze supplier performance data and recommend process or product improvements.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with engineering, operations, and supply chain teams on quality initiatives.
- Participate in audits and ensure supplier compliance with applicable industry standards.
- Perform additional duties as needed to support quality and operational goals.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field).
- 10+ years of experience in supplier quality, manufacturing, or related engineering discipline.
- Strong background in root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies (e.g., 8D, A3).
- Experience with quality systems and tools such as PFMEA, control plans, DOE, Lean, and Six Sigma.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and engineering documentation (including GD&T).
- Familiarity with aerospace quality standards (e.g., AS9100, AS9110, AS9120) and inspection practices.
- Proficiency with data analysis and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, Minitab, or similar).
- Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP is a plus.
- Knowledge of APQP or advanced product quality planning processes is preferred.
- Prior auditing experience and/or ASQ certifications (CQE, CQA) are a plus.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and supplier development practices.
- Valid driver’s license with ability to travel frequently (up to 50%, domestic and international).
- Passport required; must be comfortable with short‑notice travel.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Experience leading cross‑functional or remote teams on complex initiatives.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across all organizational levels.
- Effective problem‑solving, analytical thinking, and decision‑making abilities.
- Ability to influence without authority and drive continuous improvement.
- Conflict resolution skills and a collaborative mindset.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality excellence.
Physical Requirements
- Primarily office based with occasional interaction in lab or production settings.
- Regular computer use and standard office equipment operation.
- Ability to occasionally lift light items (up to 10 lbs).
- Must be able to observe and assess detailed components at close range.
