Broadcom’s Global Operations supporting the Core Switching Group seeks an ATE Test Hardware Development Engineer to drive development of test hardware for networking switches at its R&D center in Irvine, CA. The role requires hands‑on experience with PCB, mechanical components and test program development using Ultra Flex testers.
Responsibilities- Drive hardware development, including final test and probe design, by collaborating with PCB designers, probe vendors and socket vendors.
- Debug and bring up test hardware on ATE.
- Develop ATE DIB diagnostics programs for high‑power, high‑speed >100G SERDES networking switches.
- Layout multi‑lane 200G/400G SERDES on PCB and substrate, ensuring signal integrity and power integrity.
- Work closely with Design Engineers, Test Engineers, Board, Socket and Probe vendors, and thermal equipment vendors.
- Manage and track all hardware for CSG across R&D and production.
- Hands‑on experience with Teradyne Ultra Flex Plus tester platforms.
- In‑depth knowledge of PCB design, high‑power and high‑speed SERDES layout on advanced substrate, using Cadence and Mentor Graphics EDA tools.
- Ability to debug/troubleshoot failure mechanisms with test hardware.
- Programming experience for test diagnostics development.
- Experience with extreme temperature testing of ASICs at ATE.
- Experience with AI tools for rapid script development is a plus.
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with 8+ years of related experience, or Master’s Degree in Engineering with 6+ years of related experience.
Compensation and BenefitsThe annual base salary range for this position is $108,000–$172,800. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus and equity awards.
