Electrical Characterization Engineer – Zonals/BMS Location - Irvine, California AND Pennsylvania Job Summary
We are seeking an Electrical Characterization Engineer with experience in automotive electronics and ECU validation to support next-generation Zonal and Battery Management System (BMS) development programs. The ideal candidate will perform electrical characterization, testing, validation, and performance analysis for automotive electronic control units (ECUs) in a fast-paced engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities- Perform electrical characterization and validation testing for Zonal and BMS ECUs.
- Execute functional, electrical, and performance testing on automotive electronic systems.
- Analyze electrical parameters, signal integrity, power behavior, and system performance metrics.
- Support hardware validation activities including bench testing, debugging, and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with hardware, software, systems, and validation teams to ensure product quality and compliance.
- Develop and maintain test procedures, validation reports, and engineering documentation.
- Identify electrical issues, root cause failures, and support corrective actions.
- Assist in data collection, analysis, and reporting for characterization and validation activities.
- Support integration testing and verification activities for embedded automotive systems.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in electrical characterization, validation, or testing of ECUs/electronic systems.
- Knowledge of automotive electronics, Zonal architecture, or Battery Management Systems (BMS).
- Hands‑on experience with electrical lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, power analyzers, and signal generators.
- Understanding of embedded systems and automotive communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, or Ethernet.
- Strong debugging, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to interpret schematics, test data, and engineering specifications.
- Good communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience working in automotive or EV domains.
- Familiarity with hardware validation and environmental testing.
- Knowledge of automotive standards and validation methodologies.
- Exposure to high‑voltage systems and power electronics is a plus.
