Responsibilities

The Position:
  • Responsible for placement and routing of Printed Circuit Boards from engineering schematic diagrams while observing good layout techniques and industry standards. May have specific technical project or product responsibility.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
  • PCB Routing and Layout Techniques
    • Read, understand, and interpret electrical schematic diagrams and mechanical component specifications supplied by Hardware Engineering Group.
    • Place PCB components per engineer's recommendations and industry standards.
    • Route PCB including differential pairs, critical high-speed circuits and impedance controlled nets per engineer's instructions and component specifications.
  • Troubleshooting
    • Debug schematic diagrams and set-up Net Classes and Net Properties utilizing Mentor Design Capture and Expedition PCB design tools.
    • Post process boards, find and correct design errors.
  • Documentation
    • Create a complete PCB documentation package including fabrication and assembly drawings, parts lists, and schematic diagrams utilizing acceptable drafting techniques.
    • Modify released documentation by generating DCNs and ADCNs per instructions from DCRs and other sources.
The wage range of $28.37 - $48.08 is just one component of Panasonic's total package. Actual compensation varies depending on the individual's knowledge, skills, experience, and location. This role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and incentives (please also ensure to include a full list of "other forms of compensation" applicable to any posting too, and this would include GEB, NQDC, commissions, profit-sharing, as just some illustrative examples).

Qualifications

What We're Looking For:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • AA degree in Engineering.
  • 3-6 years' experience in a PCB Design/Engineering environment.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to solve numerous problems relating to PCB layout and design.
  • Must be detail oriented and able to simultaneously handle multiple PCB designs.
  • Proficient in project planning and ability to plan for internal and/or external dependencies.
  • Ability to effectively communicate, in English, both in writing and verbally, with electrical engineers, mechanical engineers and PCB CAD librarians in order to fully explain and understand all of the issues and related problems that arise during the circuit board design process.
  • Use professional concepts while applying company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues.
  • Knowledgeable with commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the Electronic Engineering field.
  • Use clearly demonstrable skills as an experienced professional within the Engineering field.
  • Must be capable of clearly identifiable contributions to the success of a product or project.
  • Work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data require a review of a variety of factors.
