Position

Position Title: Hardware Engineer
Location: Irvine, CA
Work Arrangement: On-Site

Position Summary

The Hardware Engineer will perform assigned electrical engineering tasks including circuit and subsystem design, system integration, troubleshooting, wire harness design, electromechanical/electrical system testing, and data analysis. This position reports to the Electrical Engineering Manager and works directly with Vehicle Technical Leads and Program Managers.

Responsibilities
  • Work with the team to design and build subsystem/hardware/software for aircraft systems
  • Prepare and create schematics, engineering drawings, test plans/procedures
  • Collaborate with mechanical, GNC, manufacturing, aerodynamic, procurement, quality assurance, and project/program management teams
  • Demonstrate and encourage adherence to best practices and standard procedures
Qualifications
  • Proven understanding of Electrical Engineering principles
  • Demonstrated skills in troubleshooting, validating/testing, and analyzing subsystems/systems
  • Experience in documenting designs and analyses with written reports
  • Ability to design using CAD software such as Altium
  • Proven communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Skills/Qualifications
  • Experience in designing robotic and/or aircraft systems
  • UAV experience highly desired
  • Hands-on experience with microcontrollers and firmware/software
  • Experience in small to medium sized teams in an R&D environment
  • Familiar with MIL spec hardware and harnessing standards
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • 3 - 5+ years of progressively responsible industry experience

Export Control / ITAR Requirement: This position requires access to information and technology subject to U.S. export control laws and regulations, including ITAR. Employment is contingent upon meeting applicable export control eligibility requirements and compliance obligations.

Travel Required: Less Than 10%

Working Conditions & Physical Demands

The diversity of work conditions may range from a general office environment to warehouse and other facilities.

  • Physical demands: ability to stop, stand, climb, and occasionally lift a minimum of 25 lbs
  • Movement between departments, floors, and worksites to facilitate work
Work Authorization

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without the need for current or future employment visa sponsorship.

Salary & Benefits

Salary: $100,000 - $145,000 annually

Salary depends on relevant work experience, education, training, essential skills, and/or other factors. The position is eligible for an annual bonus. The pay range is a general guideline and not a guarantee.
