Plans, organizes, and manages all structural engineering activities for the department to produce structural working drawings and specifications for all projects within its own office and may have the responsibility to assist other chiefs at other offices. The incumbent must be capable of demonstrating creativity, foresight, and mature engineering judgment.

* Requires a 4-year mechanical engineering degree

* Typically 16+ years' related experience (or equivalent working knowledge/experience).

* Professional registration is required.

* Incumbent must be cognizant of the capabilities and limitations of various computer software packages and structural engineering software to effectively direct their use for diverse engineering assignments.
