Senior Mechanical Engineer - Buildings

This role is ideal for a motivated engineer who brings experience across sectors, including commercial, higher education, and multi-family residential and civic projects, and is looking to grow within a collaborative, design-focused environment.

** Your Impact*
* + Perform mechanical engineering design and technical delivery across a diverse portfolio including commercial, higher education, multi-family residential, and civic projects

+ Support design of HVAC, air distribution, hydronic, and building systems

+ Participate in the full project lifecycle, from concept development through construction and close-out

+ Analyze and interpret data from site conditions, drawings, and technical documents to support engineering solutions

+ Prepare and contribute to technical reports, specifications, and design documentation

+ Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and sector-specific requirements, including healthcare environments

+ Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver integrated project solutions

+ Support client interactions and project meetings, building strong working relationships

+ Mentor junior staff and contribute to team development

** Who You Are*
* ** Required Qualifications*
* + Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering

+ 5+ years of relevant experience in mechanical design for building systems

+ Experience supporting projects across commercial, higher education, and multi-family residential and civic projects

+ Strong understanding of HVAC systems and mechanical design principles

+ Experience supporting projects from design through construction

+ Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, and related engineering tools

+ Strong communication and collaboration skills

** Preferred Qualifications*
* + Professional Engineer (PE) license or on track to obtain

+ Experience working on complex commercial, higher education, and multi-family residential and civic projects

+ Familiarity with California codes and local jurisdiction requirements

+ Experience working with multi-disciplinary engineering teams

+ LEED AP or sustainability credentials

Compensation:

Expected Salary: $107,500 - $156,600

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position within the state of Colorado, based on the successful applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location.
