Shimmick is seeking a highly talented Business Development Intern to be based out of Irvine, CA
. We are looking for someone to start as soon as possible with an end date in August or September pending the academic schedules.

Shimmick is a national contractor that has an excellent reputation within the industry and is seeking a qualified individual to join our Southwest Division. Shimmick takes on challenging projects and performs high-quality work ranging from expanding/constructing water and wastewater treatment plants to construction of the new Gerald Desmond Bridge.

- Led by industry veterans with 20+ years of experience.
- Solid foundation: client relationships, financial stability, and market leadership.
- Interns are assigned duties that will provide a broad, well-rounded learning experience within their field of study.
- Focus is admin support for BD department. Some events (locally), data entry, market research.
- Needs to sit in Irvine.
- The hiring manager is looking for time management, prioritization, detail-oriented candidates.
- Candidates must be currently enrolled in a university program pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Journalism, English or related field with the intent to continue enrollment after an internship.
- Must have completed 2 years of study.
- University student that has more than one year of school remaining before earning a degree preferred; these students typically are Freshmen, Sophomores, or Juniors in university. Successful Interns may be eligible to return for additional internships.
- Knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong problem-solving skills and consistent attention to detail.
- Ability to manage changing deadlines and work well under pressure for multiple team leaders.
- Work independently and effectively to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Highly organized with excellent time management skills.
- Excellent verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.
- This position does not include sponsorship for United States Work Authorization.
- The salary range for this position is $26.00 - $30.00 per hour depending on experience and/or education.
- A Housing Stipend is available to those who qualify.
