Job Description & How to Apply Below
Neon Aero is building the next generation of high-performance hardware across aerospace, advanced mobility, robotics, and transportation. We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design, integration, and industrialization of complex mechanical and electromechanical systems, from early architecture through production release.
This is a hands‑on role for an engineer who enjoys solving challenging technical problems, working closely with hardware, and turning concepts into reliable, manufacturable products.
What You’ll Do- Lead the design and integration of mechanical and electromechanical systems across multiple product domains.
- Own critical subsystems from concept development through production release.
- Develop robust designs in Siemens NX and drive engineering decisions through the full product lifecycle.
- Apply DFM, DFA, DFMA, and cost‑conscious design principles from the earliest stages of development.
- Create production‑ready drawings, specifications, and documentation using strong GD&T practices.
- Partner closely with manufacturing, suppliers, and quality teams to bring designs into production.
- Support prototype builds, testing, validation, root‑cause investigations, and design iterations.
- Perform engineering analyses including structural, thermal, and tolerance evaluations as required.
- Drive hardware through industrialization, first article builds, qualification, and production ramp.
- Participate directly in assembly, integration, and testing activities to ensure successful execution.
- 8+ years of experience developing and shipping mechanical products.
- Strong proficiency with Siemens NX.
- Deep understanding of GD&T and production drawing release processes.
- Proven experience taking hardware from concept through manufacturing and production.
- Experience with mechanical and electromechanical assemblies in demanding product development environments.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, tolerance stack‑ups, inspection methodologies, and quality metrics.
- Ability to work effectively across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and supplier teams.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field preferred.
If you enjoy building products that make it into the real world, we’d love to hear from you.
