Overview
Takes part in providing local technical assistance for the analysis, development, and design of processes and infrastructure relating to dams, hydraulic structures, energy storage, and generating facilities. Generates accurate and concise documentation, ensuring that responsibilities are delivered and adhered to with a level of quality that meets or exceeds acceptable industry standards.
Responsibilities- Under general supervision, assist with performing basic professional structural engineering work relating to dams, hydraulic structures, energy storage, and generating facilities.
- Work closely with project managers and lead engineers on dam safety and energy projects.
- Preparation or review of design calculations, design criteria documents, or studies.
- Preparation or review of field work plans, construction activities, schedules, and cost estimates.
- Preparation or review of construction and bid specifications.
- Preparation or review of drawings.
- Preparation or review of written reports.
- Participate in site inspections for a range of projects throughout the United States.
- Complete training on assigned tasks.
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision‑making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
- Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, with a focus in Structural Engineering.
- Excellent research skills with an analytical mindset.
- Competent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non‑engineering audience.
- Proficient self‑leadership with attention to detail, multitasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment.
- Ability to work independently under general supervision, as well as part of a team to meet business objectives.
- Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, technology, math principles, predictive models, spreadsheets, drafting, and tools.
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety, and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
- Ability to work schedules conducive to project‑specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.
- Occasional travel may be required depending on project‑specific requirements.
- Engineer in Training certification.
- Prior internship related to the degree of study and the specific engineering discipline.
- Member of and/or active participation in local professional practice organizations.
Expected Salary: $58,200 - $96,030
