Terran Orbital is seeking an experienced Sr. Cloud Dev Sec Ops Engineer to join our dynamic team. Reporting to the Cloud Platform Engineering Manager
, the Sr. Cloud Dev Sec Ops Engineer will contribute to the build out of Terran’s Platform as a Service (PaaS) offering that accelerates delivery, shifts security left, and provides unified Dev Ops, infrastructure, SRE, and security capabilities. You'll work with a team of cloud engineers, architects, and contractors while driving the adoption of Lockheed Martin standards and NIST 800-53/STIG compliance across Ground, Flight, and Test software teams.
* This position is fully onsite in Irvine, CA.*
- Lead detection, analysis, containment, and remediation of security incidents in cloud environments; develop and maintain runbooks and post‑mortem processes.
- Provision and maintain cloud infrastructure (compute, networking, storage, databases) using Infrastructure‑as‑Code; optimize cost, performance, and reliability while adhering to security baselines.
- Ensure NIST 800-53 and STIG compliance across infrastructure, pipelines, and AMIs.
- Establish unified tooling, SOPs, and self‑service platform capabilities, integrating Lockheed Martin blueprints, AMIs, and Infrastructure‑as‑Code standards.
- Mentor and develop engineers and interns on the team.
- Bachelor’s in IT, Cybersecurity, or Aerospace Systems.
- 5+ years or equivalent of cloud engineering, Dev Ops, or cybersecurity experience.
- Deep expertise in Infrastructure as Code, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience implementing NIST 800-53 and STIG controls in cloud environments.
- Experience with defense, aerospace, or highly regulated industry requirements.
- U.S. Citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain DoD security clearance.
- Master’s in IT, Cybersecurity, or Aerospace Systems.
- Professional certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect, AWS Dev Ops Engineer, and/or Information Security Systems.

$125,000 - $155,000 USD (case‑by‑case based on qualifications).
Physical Demands
An employee must meet the physical demands described to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. Duties routinely require sitting or standing for long periods, bending, reaching, walking, and lifting up to 10 pounds, occasionally up to 25 pounds. The position is generally sedentary with substantial computer usage.
