Black & Veatch is seeking a Regional Condition Assessment Lead to join the asset engineering team in Southern California. The role will manage and orchestrate Southern California projects and develop a regional condition assessment team, supporting the national practice and delivering high‑technical standards of work.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as interface between clients and staff, promote quality, mentor staff, and prepare deliverables.
- Provide technical leadership and perform technical work for core condition assessment, rehabilitation, and aging infrastructure projects.
- Act as Project Manager or Technical Leader on projects.
- Lead small teams of multi‑discipline professionals.
- Coordinate and integrate engineering, procurement, construction, and startup activities, including third‑party companies.
- Ensure projects meet budget and schedule metrics.
- Promote the Condition Assessment practice to external clients and internal BV networks, develop proposals, presentations, and close opportunities.
- Foster and grow relationships with key clients, decision makers, and stakeholders to drive new opportunities.
- Aid in creating follow‑on service opportunities beyond Condition Assessment components.
- Supervise technical staff performance and provide career mentoring.
- 10+ years of client development and project execution experience with proven ability in condition assessment and asset management.
- Professional Engineering registration in California.
- Experience in a client‑facing or business development role.
- Recognized as a Condition Assessment leader with knowledge of regional drivers and client needs.
- Experience leading project teams and executing Condition Assessment projects.
- Experience identifying, developing, and winning Condition Assessment projects.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Must complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements as applicable.
Typical office and construction environments; extreme weather, high noise, safety hazards (electric currents, scaffolding, high places, chemicals). Must sit, walk, talk, read, write, drive, lift up to 40 lbs.
