Our client is seeking an experienced Head of Software to lead and develop a multidisciplinary engineering team of approximately 30 engineers, with a primary focus on embedded systems development
. Based in Irvine, this is a strategic leadership role within a leading technology design house delivering innovative solutions across the medical, aerospace, consumer electronics, and semiconductor sectors.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of leading embedded software engineering teams of at least 10–15 engineers within a
project-based environment
. You will be responsible for driving technical excellence, developing engineering capability, ensuring successful project delivery, and fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture.
- Demonstrated experience leading embedded software engineering teams of 10–15+ engineers.
- Strong background in embedded systems development.
- Experience working in project-based, consultancy, or design house environments.
- Excellent leadership, people management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to balance technical direction with commercial and operational objectives.
