Johnson & Johnson Med Tech is recruiting for a Technical Transfer and Validation Director located in Irvine, CA. The role reports to the Sr PMO Director and focuses on creating and executing supply chain technical transfer projects to support quality, growth, delivery, and cost improvements worldwide across the BWI Supply Chain organization.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and manage the portfolio of Supply Chain Technical Transfer projects.
- Manage technical projects for External Manufacturing and Internal Manufacturing around capacity expansion.
- Provide technical support for the approval/validation of changes and improvements.
- Oversee technical execution of projects, giving comprehensive technical advice and facilitating resolution of complex technical and operational problems.
- Provide technical support for the resolution of manufacturing assembly issues.
- Drive the development and implementation of validation activities and governance processes to manage the process and system set up at the EM.
- Conduct effective strategy and business planning input processes, metrics, and scorecard reviews.
- Implement standard best practices for project management, measurement, and prioritization.
- Develop and define the master list of Supply Chain improvement projects within the BWI SC, including business case, resources, project timelines, deliverables, and metrics.
- Establish program tracking and reporting to ensure tracking for key benefits realization and to meet the needs of the BWI Supply Chain Leadership Team.
- Implement an agile and efficient process to prioritize projects within the portfolio, and allocate resources to ensure benefits are realized.
- Review and approve technical documentation to verify compliance with technical specifications and standards.
- Communicate with internal (manufacturing, quality, engineering) and external partners to coordinate and execute project plans.
- Assign tasks according to projected scopes, including compliance and quality improvement, cost reduction, cycle time reduction, capacity increase, raw material qualification, and launch preparation.
- Ensure implementation of multiple new product development plans and programs for the business unit.
- Monitor smooth execution of plans and programs at lower levels and cross functionally.
- Allocate proper level of resources to facilitate attainment of project goals within established timeliness and budgets.
- Ensure departmental and company compliance with all local government and company regulations, policies and procedures for health, safety, and environmental compliance.
- Other responsibilities may be assigned; some responsibilities listed may not be assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- 3–5 years of related experience leading transfer projects.
- 3–5 years of leading project‑management projects.
- Proficiency in English.
- Comfortable working in an office setting, including sitting at a computer, using an office phone, and doing light office work.
- No travel restriction outside the United States – travel up to 50% of the time.
- Preferred:
Six Sigma Certification. - Preferred:
Project Management Certification. - Required:
Must be able to travel 50% of the time; travel to Mexico, Costa Rica, and China is required. - Vehicle‑eligible roles may require a valid driver's license (if applicable).
