Lab Technician
Responsible for supporting R&D processes by implementing aspects of process improvement, equipment setup, testing, documentation, problem correction and related tooling.
Adheres to environmental policy, procedures, and supports department environmental objectives.
Updates supervisor of work status or problems with recommendations for improvement or correction. Implements approved corrective action. Modifies procedures to improve equipment operation or processes. Records assignments and prepare documentation concerning materials, parts used, concepts, designs, drawings and processes. Compiles data to develop reports for management. Administers testing protocols and documents results. Coordinates manufacturing phase in of new products or product changes.
Responds to safety issues by recommending and implementing a resolution. Completes specialized studies or experiments and prepares reports on results.
Main areas of responsibility:
- Execute development lab activities to include electrical, mechanical, consumables and system level as required with high quality and on time.
- PCBA/component soldering, PCBA rework, prototype board creation, mechanical parts assembly, consumables/plastic parts assembly.
- Adheres relevant company SOPs and processes and delivers high quality in all work products on time.
- Follow procedures and lab requirements.
- Make, test and inspect development and pilot product.
- Maintain all data and records according to approved procedures.
- Maintain and calibrate all measuring equipment as required.
- Organize lab space, parts, and equipment as required.
Minimum education required for competent performance:
Vocational, Certificate, Technical or Associates.
Minimum experience:
3 years of PCBA/component soldering and Electro-Mechanical subassembly, proficiency with electrical and mechanical test equipment and type of work experience beyond formal education) required for competent performance:
Generally, Requires 3-5 Years Work Experience.
Proficiency with Electrical test equipment such as multimeter, oscilloscope and spectrum/network analyzer.
Proficiency with Mechanical test equipment such as caliper, force gauge (Mark-10), force/fatigue test system (Instron).
Experience in PCBA soldering of through hole (THT) and surface mount (SMT) components and prototype board assembly.
Experience in mechanical parts assembly and supporting prototyping.
Experience in consumables/plastic parts assembly and supporting prototyping.
Experience in system level electro-mechanical assembly and debugging.
