Exterior Mechanism Engineer
Location:
Irvine, CA
- Design of automotive exterior mechanism in a DRE role
- Develop high efficiency actuators and motors for systems such as charge port doors, exterior mirrors, tonneau covers and automated glazing systems
- Define and develop mechatronic requirements, working closely with software controls and electrical teams to refine motors control logic, sensor feedback loops and diagnostic protocols
- Utilize Catia V5/3D Experience to integrate motors and actuators into ensuring rapid design iterations and optimization
- Work with the studio team to provide engineering criteria sections and generate high quality A-surface that meet all DFM requirements while keeping with the theme of the vehicle
- Develop, prototype and industrialize various mechanisms and actuators in the vehicle features
- Create 2D drawings with GD&T
- Drive continuous improvement in mechanism kinematics and NVH profiles
