Mechanical Engineer – HVAC & Plumbing (Individual Contributor)
If you're a Mechanical Engineer who designs HVAC and plumbing systems, runs your own calculations, and produces construction documents in Revit, this is worth a conversation.
This opportunity supports mission-critical federal and defense facilities where HVAC and plumbing systems are more complex than typical commercial buildings. Reliability, redundancy, and performance matter here—and engineers are expected to own their work from concept through construction documents.
This is not a project management role.
This is not coordination-only or redline-only.
This is a hands-on production role.
What You'll Be DoingYou'll be a hands-on mechanical contributor, owning real scope and producing immediately:
- Design HVAC and plumbing systems for complex facilities
- Run mechanical calculations independently, including:
- Load calculations
- Equipment sizing
- Pump calculations
- Produce Revit-based construction documents (direct authorship required)
- Validate inputs/outputs and apply engineering judgment when results don't look right
- Support multiple projects concurrently in a lean engineering team
- Coordinate with architectural, electrical, and structural disciplines
- Participate in short, local site visits for field verification
This team needs someone who can produce immediately—this is not a training role for Revit or construction documentation.
Required:
- 5–10+ years of HVAC & plumbing system design experience
- Strong experience with mechanical calculations (loads, sizing, pumps)
- Proficiency in Revit MEP (current production experience required)
- Experience designing both HVAC and plumbing systems
- Experience producing construction documents (not just coordination/redlines)
- EIT required
Preferred:
- PE license
- Federal/DoD/VA project experience
