Highway Coordinator​/EIT

Job Summary

As part of HDR’s Transportation Business Group, you’ll help shape the systems that move people and goods safely, efficiently, and sustainably. The Highway Coordinator/EIT role focuses on supporting transportation projects and public transportation clients throughout the Southern California Region.

• Provide project engineering/project delivery supports with a focus on transportation projects and public transportation clients throughout the Southern California Region.
• Work on a team with other project engineers on the detailed design of urban and rural roadway projects.
• Take responsibility for alignment and profile, geometrics, drainage, development of plans and construction estimates.
• Provide assistance with the creation and submission of technical reports, specifications and calculations.
• Perform other duties as needed.

• Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate or ability to obtain within 12 months. Candidates without their EIT will be placed into a Design Coordinator job code and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression.
• Proficient with Micro Station and/or AutoCAD, familiarity and demonstrated experience with highways and roads engineering software such as Bentley Concept Station and Open Roads Designer and/or Autodesk Infraworks and Civil3d.
• Preference will be given to local candidates.
• Previous work experience with Cal Trans/Local Cities projects (studies and design) is preferred.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or similar field.
