Job Description & How to Apply Below

Join an established edge-AI semiconductor company developing next-generation processor technology for intelligent devices at the edge.

We are seeking a Digital Design Engineer to contribute to the development of embedded microprocessor and system-on-chip components used in our AI hardware platform. You will work alongside experienced engineers designing and implementing processor-related RTL, validating functionality, and helping bring new digital hardware from concept through production.

This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer with strong digital-design fundamentals who wants to develop deeper expertise in MPU architecture, RISC‑V, RTL design, and AI acceleration.

You do not need to have designed an entire processor independently. We are looking for someone with a strong foundation, relevant coursework, internships, research, projects, or professional experience—and the ability to learn quickly.

This position is hybrid and requires working from our Laguna Hills office three days per week.

What You’ll Do
  • Design and implement digital modules using Verilog and System Verilog
  • Contribute to embedded MPU, processor, and SoC‑related RTL development
  • Translate technical requirements into clear and practical hardware designs
  • Develop and support modules involving control logic, datapaths, memory interfaces, and processor subsystems
  • Run RTL simulations and debug designs using waveform‑analysis tools
  • Participate in module‑level verification, test planning, and design reviews
  • Support processor integration with SRAM, buses, peripherals, and custom hardware accelerators
  • Assist with FPGA‑based prototyping and system validation in collaboration with the FPGA engineering team
  • Work with verification, firmware, software, and hardware engineers to resolve system‑level issues
  • Document designs, interfaces, assumptions, and test results
  • Build experience across the full semiconductor‑development process, from architecture and RTL through integration and product delivery
What We’re Looking For
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline
  • Strong understanding of digital logic and computer‑architecture fundamentals
  • Experience using Verilog or System Verilog through employment, internships, research, coursework, or personal projects
  • Understanding of combinational and sequential logic, finite‑state machines, registers, and datapaths
  • Familiarity with RTL simulation, waveform analysis, and debugging
  • Interest in processor design, embedded systems, RISC‑V, SoC development, or AI hardware
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate with engineers across multiple disciplines
Helpful, but Not Required
  • One to four years of professional digital‑design experience
  • Internship, academic, laboratory, or project experience involving CPU, MPU, RISC‑V, or SoC design
  • Understanding of processor pipelines, caches, instruction execution, or memory systems
  • Familiarity with AXI, AHB, APB, SRAM, SPI, or I2C
  • Exposure to ASIC design, synthesis, timing analysis, or semiconductor‑development flows
  • Experience with VCS, Verdi, Questa, Xcelium, or similar tools
  • Python, Tcl, Bash, or other scripting experience
  • Experience with custom instructions, hardware accelerators, or hardware/software co‑design
You will:
  • Contribute to MPU and processor‑related designs used in next‑generation edge‑AI hardware
  • Learn directly from experienced semiconductor and processor‑design engineers
  • Gain exposure to RTL design, verification, SoC integration, firmware interaction, and hardware validation
  • Work on technology spanning processors, custom accelerators, and intelligent edge computing
  • Take on increasing technical ownership as your knowledge and experience grow
  • See your work contribute directly to a physical semiconductor product

Work Authorization

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States. Employer‑sponsored immigration support is not available for this position now or in the future.
