R&D IC Designer

Job Description

IDesigns and develops integrated circuits. Oversees definition, design, verification, and documentation for ASIC development. Determines architecture design, logic design, and system simulation. Defines module interfaces/formats for simulation. Contributes to the development of multidimensional designs involving the layout of complex integrated circuits. Evaluates all aspects of the process flow from high-level design to synthesis, place and route, and timing and power use.

Analyzes equipment to establish operation data, conducts experimental tests, and evaluates results. May also review vendor capability to support development.

A seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of area of specialization; resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways. This job is the fully qualified, career-oriented, journey-level position.

• Experience and fully qualified in own function plus working knowledge of others
• Applies in-depth job knowledge to a wide range of multiple or complex tasks
• Knowledge of company policies and practices

Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Networks with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise.

• May assist more junior staff members with aspects of their job
• May coordinate work with third parties, vendors, or trade customers
• Plan activities with other team members

Work is independent and collaborative in nature. Provides regular updates to manager on project/account status.

Bachelors and 5+ years of related experience or Masters degree and 3+ years of related experience or PhD and no experience Education/

Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Computer Science and 5+ years of related experience or Masters degree in Engineering/Computer Science and 3+ years of related experience or PhD in Engineering/Computer Science and no years experience.
