OpportunityWater Resources Engineer opening focused on stormwater planning and design, flood control, water asset condition assessment, and water supply planning.
Hybrid position can be based out of San Marcos, Los Angeles, Murrieta, or Irvine, CA offices.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the execution of water resources projects for services including stormwater improvements, green infrastructure, flood mitigation, erosion and sediment control, regulatory compliance, and business development.
- Planning, modeling and design of stormwater improvements, open channels, storm or combined sewer systems, detention/retention facilities.
- Planning and design of green infrastructure and sustainable watershed measures, including structural BMPs.
- Planning and design of flood mitigation improvements, including dams, levees, reservoirs, and pump stations.
- Erosion and sediment control planning and design, including SWPPP development.
- Regulatory compliance and permitting efforts for USACE, FEMA, and other environmental permits.
- Provide business development leadership to identify and capture services and build client relationships.
- Act as Project Manager for the services listed above.
- Interface with partners to leverage new technologies and approaches.
- Provide technical mentorship and support early-career professionals.
- Support the development of larger Planning business by identifying opportunities in water supply, masterplans, asset management, and condition assessment.
- 11+ years of water resources planning and design experience.
- Experience developing and executing water resource planning and design projects.
- Proficiency with HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, EPA/XP-SWMM, Info Works, EFDC, CFD, ArcGIS, Cityworks, Lucity, or other asset management/CMMS systems.
- Experience with regulatory requirements and procedures.
- Drive client-facing/business development effort.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering from a recognized accredited program.
- Minimum 5 years related work experience.
Professional Engineer (P.E.), California
Work Environment / Physical DemandsHybrid or flexible work options may be available after 90 days based on performance. Majority of work is office-based; some site visits may require navigating unpaved or natural terrain while carrying equipment.
