Silvus is seeking an Applications Engineer – I who will report to the Senior Applications Engineer on the Sales Engineering team. The successful individual conducts a wide range of technical activities relating to applications/solutions engineering and customer and sales support. This position works closely with customers and the Sales team to drive product development and enable cutting‑edge systems and technologies. The role includes defining and testing new products and features, assisting customers and the Sales team with technical support requests, performing technical analysis and systems integration duties, and engineering complete solutions to complex problems.

The position requires up to 25% travel and is located at Silvus Technologies’ Engineering and R&D office in Irvine, CA, on a hybrid schedule.

• Design and test complete solutions that solve unique technical problems.
• Define new products and features to fill gaps and perform product evaluations and field trials for new product features and accessories.
• Provide comprehensive support to customers and the sales team through troubleshooting, system integration engineering, product recommendations, and technical analysis via phone, online, and in person.
• Participate in an off‑hour, on‑call support rotation (voluntary or scheduled) to address critical customer escalations.
• Work individually and with Engineering teams to support requests via in‑house or through field testing and validation.
• Test and harden existing features through firmware and hardware changes in realistic applications.
• Support the Sales Engineering team by helping prepare for demonstrations, training, testing, or recreating bugs and issues seen in the field.
• Create and maintain customer‑facing documents and content including manuals, guides, videos, application notes, etc. to support customers and sales more efficiently.
• Oversee and assist the RMA and Loaner teams by providing guidance, equipment recommendations, and vetting customer requests.
• Travel (up to 25%) to provide in‑person engineering support to customers and the sales team, including demos, troubleshooting, system integration, and training.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related technical field.
• Proficiency with instruments such as spectrum analyzers, multimeters, signal generators, and other radio frequency and data network test equipment and testing.
• Ability to work independently, take initiative, multitask, and effectively interact with cross‑functional teams and customers.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attentiveness to details.
• Proficiency with PC office applications and mobile devices.
• Willingness to travel and work at customer sites.
• Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident) due to clients under U.S. federal contracts.
• All employment contingent upon successful clearance of a background check and drug test.
