Senior Civil Engineer - Irvine

We’re hiring Senior-Level Engineers to work alongside our experienced Project Managers and Group Leaders. In this role, you’ll play a key part in delivering projects from the earliest spark of an idea all the way through to final construction — including proposal development, feasibility studies, environmental clearance, preliminary and final design, bidding, and construction support.

• Execute engineering tasks for the planning, design and construction of capital improvement projects
• Oversee detailed roadway and utility (water, sewer, storm drain) designs, design calculations, technical reports, and PS&E for capital improvement facilities
• Coordinate with internal disciplines, utility companies, subconsultants, resource agencies, and City, County, and State clients
• Develop capital improvement project delivery schedules for all phases

• Oversee project progress and budget/expenditures
• Perform quality control and establish BMPs for work products
• Direct and mentor engineering associate and assistant engineers, technicians and interns in their work
• Support marketing and proposal efforts

• Success in delivery of PS&E bid packages for capital improvement projects
• Understanding of multi-disciplinary team coordination, compilation of design and construction documents, and local agency, APWA Standards (“Greenbook”), and Caltrans design standards, specifications, practices
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications and design software including Civil 3D, Micro Station or AutoCAD
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated leadership skills and proven ability to work in a team environment
• Commitment to delivering quality work products and superior service to clients
• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related field
• California Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain reciprocal license within 6 months.
• 10+ years of capital improvement project experience after graduation
• CA driver’s license

• Will sit, stand or walk for the entire duration of a workday
• Will use telephone, computer system, email, or other electronic devices on a regular basis
• Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
• Work mostly indoors; occasionally work outdoors
• Usually work near others, such as in a shared office space
• Occasionally wear protective gear, such as a hard hat and safety vest
• Sometimes work in noisy or distracting work environments
• Occasionally travel to a project site by automobile and/or airplane
• Occasionally work from a vehicle while at project sites

Full-Time Exempt

Annual salary ranges from $145,000 $ 160,000 per year, commensurate with qualifications and experience
