We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Electronics Lab Technician to support reliability and manufacturing test execution for advanced automotive electrical hardware, including Electronic Control Units (ECUs), ADAS, telematics, and battery management systems. In this role, you will work closely with engineering leads to perform hardware bring-up, operate automated test equipment (ATE), own thermal and vibration chamber setups, execute circuit board modifications, and perform root-cause failure analysis on test setups and assemblies.
Responsibilities:Operate software user interfaces and automated test equipment (ATE) during hardware bring-up and commissioning of new systems.
Own the mechanical setup, calibration, and environmental profiling of thermal chambers, vibration equipment, and chillers.
Troubleshoot, root-cause, and document failures across Devices Under Test (DUT), test equipment, power supplies, and wiring harnesses.
Validate systems functionality using standard laboratory equipment, including oscilloscopes, power analyzers, digital multimeters, and power supplies.
Perform precision electronic modifications, component soldering, de-soldering, and PCB rework based on engineering redlines.
Read and interpret digital schematics, mechanical drawings, and component datasheets to support test execution.
Maintain clear test logs and communicate test results effectively to engineering teams.
Technical degree in Electronics Technology or equivalent practical experience in electronics testing.
5+ years of hands-on experience in building, operating, or commissioning Automated Test Equipment (ATE) or industrial automation systems.
Demonstrated experience setting up and operating environmental test chambers and chillers.
Strong proficiency in reading and redlining digital design schematics.
Hands-on experience with PCB soldering, component rework, and precision hand/power tools.
Practical knowledge of electrical testing using laboratory instrumentation (oscilloscopes, power analyzers, digital multimeters).
Proficiency with standard productivity applications (Microsoft Office / Google Workspace).
Physical ability to lift and maneuver test boxes, fixtures, and instrumentation as required.
Valid driver's license and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background check.
Familiarity with automotive product development cycles (EVT, DVT, PVT) and tester validation processes.
Basic understanding of thermal control vs. ramp rate calculations for chamber profiles.
Proactive, hands-on mindset with the ability to identify gaps and troubleshoot issues independently.
