Principal Environmental Consultant
This role is expected to operate at a Principal-level, with autonomy in project execution, client management, and strategic decision-making.
Lead site investigation and remediation projects across Southern California
Prepare and review technical reports for DTSC, RWQCB, and CalEPA
Manage multidisciplinary teams (engineers, geologists, scientists)
Act as client-facing lead for regulatory strategy and project delivery
Support business development efforts (client growth, proposals)
Mentor junior staff and contribute to internal team development
Participate in fieldwork (~50% early, decreasing over time)
Expected to contribute to business development, including client relationship expansion, proposal support, and revenue growth initiatives.

Strong California regulatory experience (DTSC / RWQCB required)
Must be able to write reports
Must be able to provide transcripts
8–15+ years of environmental consulting experience (California-focused)
Proven technical skills as applied to environmental investigation and remediation projects
Required:
8+ years environmental consulting experience (CA-focused)
Strong remediation + regulatory experience
Demonstrated project leadership
Preferred:
Master's degree
California Professional Geologist (PG) or PE
Experience supporting BD or revenue growth
7–10+ years California consulting preferred
Delivers high-quality regulatory reports with minimal revisions
Successfully manages projects to budget and timeline
Builds strong relationships with clients and regulatory agencies
Actively mentors and develops junior staff
Contributes to business growth and client retention
Expert Level
This is a Permanent position based out of Irvine, CA.
The pay range for this position is $150000.00 - $200000.00/yr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
