Accounting Consultant

Mar 27, 2025 - The Accounting Consultant performs complex analytical tasks, provides expertise on Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, and leads significant accounting projects with autonomy. This position engages with teams to manage project priorities and reconciliation processes while interacting with key external stakeholders. This role reviews and improves monthly financial reconciliations and intercompany movements, offering guidance and analytical insights to enhance the accuracy and completeness of financial reports.

Job Summary:

• Direct the general ledger close process and ensure all monthly activities are completed timely, accurately and recorded in accordance with GAAP
• Analyze monthly and quarterly financial statements and communicate results to senior management
• Compiling multiple reports including incurred cost reports
• Develop and maintain procedures, policies, and internal controls
• Partner with internal and external auditors to enhance internal controls.
• Answer questions concerning financial transactions and explain procedures
• Develop relationships across the organization and leverage upon those relationships to advance corporate and division goals.
• Serve on corporate objective teams and IT project teams, represent the Accounting Division in interdivisional planning sessions and provide accounting insight and financial expertise when necessary.
• Drive changes in processes and procedures that would improve job performance, generate value-added analysis or add efficiency.
• Develop and maintain well-documented procedures for all functions performed.

Job Summary:

• Constant communication with internal and external business partners in a courteous and timely manner, be proactive to act as necessary to resolve any issues.
• Respond by phone and electronically in a timely and courteous manner to inquiries from internal departments, outside vendors and other sources.
• Maintain coverage for the other three Capital Funding Analysts in the event of absences and vacations in the department.
• Determine the need for, and prepare, manual payments of vendor submitted invoices.
• Determine the need for, and prepare, general ledger journal entries within the SAP S4 Financial System.
• Based on information provided by other departments, prepare wire transfer packages to pay outside vendors for the acquisition of land parcels and other assets.
• Create wire transfer packages for Pharmacy Acquisitions closing and post-closing wires
• Initiate, track and close out bond and escrow payments related to store construction projects.
• Assist Capital Funding Supervisor with special projects
• Ensures the accurate compilation, analysis, and reporting of financial data.
• Identifies opportunities to increase the leveraging of systems and applications by the user community to enhance business systems optimization for the overall process to minimize manual workaround and stand‐alone systems.
