As a Partnership Taxation Manager (Asset Management), you will lead and review complex partnership tax engagements while providing high-quality tax consulting services to asset management clients. You will work closely with the Partnership Tax team to deliver accurate, compliant, and value-driven tax solutions, focusing on partnership taxation under Subchapter K, client service excellence, and team leadership. This role offers access to advanced tools, collaborative teams, and a growth-oriented environment designed to help you succeed.
Key Responsibilities- Perform primary and secondary reviews of complex partnership, joint venture, and non-corporate entity tax returns
- Evaluate tax aspects of partnership agreements and manage IRC
- 704(b) capital accounts
- Manage multiple client engagement teams; plan, execute, and complete tax projects across asset management clients
- Deliver tax planning, consulting, and compliance services, including partnership structuring, entity formation, and M&A transactions
- Design and implement tax-planning strategies while managing engagement budgets and timelines
- Research and consult on complex tax matters, primarily related to Subchapter K partnership taxation
- Utilize tax software and research tools to prepare, review, and process returns
- Respond to inquiries from the IRS and other tax authorities
- Maintain ongoing client communication to manage expectations, meet deadlines, and strengthen client relationships
- Manage, train, mentor, and evaluate staff; provide engagement-level and year-end performance feedback
- Support business development efforts, including opportunity identification, proposal development, and client pursuits
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- CPA certification (Required)
- Minimum 6-10 years of progressive tax compliance and/or tax consulting experience in public accounting or a mix of public accounting and industry
- Strong experience in partnership taxation with a focus on Subchapter K
- Ability to work in-office 3 days per week (Hybrid model)
- Ability to travel as business needs require
- Experience with partnership structuring, entity formation, and mergers & acquisitions
- Asset management, private equity, hedge fund, or real estate partnership experience
- Advanced knowledge of US GAAP, partnership returns, joint ventures, and non-corporate entity taxation
- Strong understanding of IRC Subchapter K partnership taxation and 704(b) capital accounts
- Excellent analytical, technical, and tax accounting/technology skills
- Exceptional client service and communication skills with the ability to build long-term client relationships
- Proven leadership abilities, including recruiting, training, coaching, and mentoring professionals
- Strong written, interpersonal, and presentation skills
- Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing priorities in a fast-paced, results-driven environment
