Controller, Finance & Banking, Accounting Manager

Overview

Our client, based in Irvine, is looking for a Real Estate Controller with minimum 10+ years related experience. The company is privately held and diversified with property management. The client requires a CPA, but industry experience is first priority with a combination of corporate and partnership accounting. We are seeking a strong financial reporting background and strong technical GAAP accounting knowledge.

Real Estate and partnership accounting are mandatory. Understanding of Joint Ventures and multiple-entity consolidations are important for success.

• Position will be responsible for managing the finance & accounting staff, preparing timely financial statements, month-end activities, analyzing the portfolio holdings and operating performance.
• Manage distributions and manage cash flow
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Manage a team of 5
• Excellent communication, presentation, and analytical skills are a must. Yardi is a strong plus.

• Minimum 10+ years related experience.
• CPA is required; industry experience with real estate and partnership accounting is essential.
• Strong financial reporting background and technical GAAP accounting knowledge.
• Experience with Real Estate, partnership accounting, Joint Ventures, and multi-entity consolidations.
• Yardi experience is a strong plus.

The salary for this position is commensurate with experience but is in the range of $160,000 to $190,000 base plus bonus and good benefits.

The salary range may be disclosed as required by local law in geographies that require disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company’s 401(k) retirement plan.
