RoleLieef is seeking a highly motivated Associate or Senior Associate to join our Investment Team. This role offers hands‑on exposure across the full investment lifecycle—from sourcing and diligence to execution and portfolio management. You will be a core member of deal teams, working closely with senior leadership and portfolio company management.
This is a small-team, high-responsibility environment with opportunities to be LP-facing and contribute to investor relations and fundraising. The right candidate will have meaningful ownership from day one.
Responsibilities Investment Analysis & Execution- Build and maintain detailed financial models, including project finance, LBO, and DCF analyses
- Conduct investment screening, thesis development, market research, competitive analysis, and diligence
- Analyze deal structures, financing options, and contractual arrangements
- Prepare investment committee memoranda and presentation materials
- Support transaction execution, including management discussions, legal coordination, and documentation
- Work with portfolio company management to monitor performance and support strategic initiatives
- Analyze add‑on acquisitions, refinancings, and capital allocation decisions
- Assist with quarterly portfolio reviews and investor reporting
- Support exit planning and execution, including sales and recapitalizations
- Research emerging infrastructure themes and market trends
- Build relationships with industry participants, advisors, and intermediaries
- Contribute to proprietary sector insights and investment theses
- 2–5 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, infrastructure investing, project finance, or corporate development
- Strong financial modeling skills, including complex project finance structures
- Proven diligence and analytical capabilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple work streams
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, engineering, or related field
- Ability to work on‑site in Irvine, CA on a hybrid basis (or relocate to Orange County)
- Experience in infrastructure, energy, utilities, or related sectors
- Background in Power & Utilities, Energy, or Infrastructure investment banking
- Familiarity with project finance structures, PPAs, off‑take agreements, and infrastructure contracts
- Genuine interest in building something new in the infrastructure space
- Entrepreneurial, self‑directed, and comfortable with ambiguity
- Intellectually curious with strong commercial judgment
- Collaborative, accountable, and execution‑oriented
- Passionate about infrastructure and emerging investment opportunities
- Direct exposure to senior leadership and investment decision‑making
- Growing platform with active deal flow and institutional backing
