Job Description
TPM, I position is responsible to help manage the company’s trade promotion fund. Enables and supports TPM payment/deduction resolution on various customers and/or broker accounts. Audits, validates, and follow-up on open deductions/payment. Interacts with third party sales agents, internal sales personnel, field sales personnel and accounting personnel to perform job duties. Works well in a team environment.
Essential Functions- Audits and validates open deductions.
- Prepares deduction summary report and coordinates with Brokers, Regional Sales Managers, and Planning Team for resolution.
- Offsets deductions – reassignments, returns, repayments, and cancellations.
- Evaluates open deductions, research and work with brokers for resolution.
- Trains/instructs brokers on trade promotion program.
- Assist brokers with request/inquiry for backup documents/invoice reports.
- Investigates and solves deductions due to lack of funds or pricing issue.
- Processes AP check requests – verify and audit back-up.
- Maintains record of all payment/check requests and deductions.
- Review freight related backups/deductions and work with shipping/Deduction Specialist for resolution – shortages/overages/fines.
- Investigates and resolves deductions from customer for cash discount. Verifies claim with Sales Team, IT Team (for EDI related issues), and PODs.
- Pursue repayment from customer when deductions are found invalid – via brokers/directly. Enlist assistance from Brokers/Manager/RSM as necessary.
- Follows up on repayments and aging deductions.
- Assists with deduction audits and trade promotion management related projects.
- Prepares/scan check and/or back-up in share drive (or similar) and provide scanned documents to brokers as needed.
- Work with manager for returned/cancelled A/P checks.
- Assists with handling incoming phone calls.
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, VOIP, video conferencing, and printers/scanners.

Education and Experience- 1 - 2 years as Admin Assistant - TPM
- 6-12 months related experience in the accounting/grocery industry
- College coursework or degree preferred
- Experience/education in accounting/finance desirable
- Experience with consumer goods/food manufacturing is desirable.
- Must be good with handling numbers and work on spreadsheet (Excel).
- Must master Excel basic functions. Intermediate skill desired.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills as candidate are required to deal with people both individually and in groups to resolve conflicts in a positive courteous manner
- Must have very good attention to detail and follow-through.
- Experience with SAP, Exceedra/Trade Pro/MEI/AFS, and BOX desirable
