Alliance Resource Group is partnered with a publicly traded tech company who is looking for a strong Senior Tax Analyst to support their team.
The Senior Tax Analyst will play a critical role in managing the company's compliance, provision, and reporting efforts. This role requires in-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a high degree of accuracy. The ideal candidate will have experience with publicly traded companies, a strong understanding of GAAP, and excellent analytical skills.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare and review federal, state, and local income tax returns for the company and its subsidiaries.
- Ensure compliance with all tax laws and regulations, minimizing risk and avoiding penalties.
- Manage and maintain the tax calendar to ensure timely filing of all tax returns and payments.
- Analyze the tax implications of business decisions, transactions, and investments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for tax savings and efficiencies.
- Prepare and review tax provisions for financial statements in accordance with ASC 740.
- Reconcile tax accounts and ensure accurate reporting of tax-related items.
- Support the preparation of quarterly and annual tax disclosures for SEC filings.
- Coordinate and manage tax audits, responding to inquiries and providing documentation as needed.
- Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations, ensuring compliance and advising management on potential impacts.
- Assist in the preparation and review of documentation for Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of tax-related activities.
- Leverage technology and automation tools to streamline tax processes and reporting.
- Work closely with the Tax Manager and other team members to achieve department goals.
- Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or MST preferred.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
- Experience with tax provision and reporting under ASC 740.
- Proficiency in tax software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
