Financial Analyst
Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Financial Analyst to support their finance team. This entry-level role is ideal for recent graduates or early‑career professionals looking to gain hands‑on experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and general corporate finance.
In this role, you will work closely with experienced corporate finance professionals to support core financial activities and special projects that help drive business decisions. The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, and eager to build a foundation in corporate financial analysis within a collaborative environment.
This is a hybrid position based in Irvine, CA.
Key Responsibilities Financial Analysis & Reporting- Assist with the preparation of financial reports, forecasts, and supporting schedules.
- Analyze financial results to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc reporting for internal stakeholders.
- Contribute to budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Help maintain accurate financial information across systems and spreadsheets.
- Assist with reconciliations, reviews, and basic validation of financial data.
- Support general accounting and finance processes as needed.
- Assist with comparing actual results to budgets or forecasts.
- Help identify cost control opportunities and efficiency improvements.
- Partner with internal teams to support expense tracking and reporting.
- Support ad hoc financial analysis requests from finance leadership.
- Assist with special projects tied to business initiatives or operational improvements.
- Help summarize financial findings in a clear, concise manner for non-finance audiences.
- Strong interest in corporate finance and financial analysis.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, basic lookups, pivot tables).
- Exposure to financial systems or reporting tools is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively while following established processes.
- Clear communication skills and a willingness to learn.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- 0–1 years of relevant experience; internships, academic projects, or coursework are acceptable.
- Hands‑on experience in core financial analysis and reporting.
- Exposure to budgeting, forecasting, and business support activities.
- Mentorship and training from experienced finance professionals.
- Clear growth potential within finance or accounting career paths.
Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience, training, licensure and certifications, office location, and other geographic considerations, as well as business and organizational needs. The salary range for the role is disclosed in this posting. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses and participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company’s 401(k) retirement plan.
