Senior Accountant (SSO Division –

Irvine, CA) Position Summary
Applies principles of accounting to analyze a variety of financial information of moderate scope and complexity and prepares financial reports. Responsible for the accuracy, integrity, control and timeliness of financial reports, transactions, systems, and processes.

Essential Functions- Prepare general ledger, asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing moderately complex account information.
- Recommend financial actions to management by analyzing accounting options.
- Summarize current financial status by collecting information, preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statements, and other management reports.
- Substantiate financial transactions by auditing documents. Verify and analyze business records, transactions, and procedures.
- Maintain accounting controls by auditing compliance with and recommending policies and procedures.
- Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
- Maintain financial security by following accounting policies and internal controls.
- Answer accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting a variety of accounting policies and regulations.
- Prepare moderately complex financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
- Maintain customer confidence and protect operations by keeping financial information confidential.
- Apply continuous improvement techniques and methods to internal processes and systems.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing professional networks, and/or participating in professional societies.
- Comply with federal and state legal requirements and professional standards. Study existing and new legislation, enforce adherence to requirements, and advise management on needed actions.
- Share specialized accounting knowledge with others. Represent organization on specific projects. Mentor new employees. Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Work assignments may include cross-functional or project team responsibilities (e.g. continuous improvement).
- Reconciliation of customer accounts
- Collection and application of customer payments
- Maintain accounts receivable customer files
- Investigate and resolve customer queries and payment irregularities
- Process adjustments to customer accounts
- Develop and maintain a positive, professional working relationship with customers
- Support month-end close process
- Reporting and analysis
- Develop and implement process improvements
- Some travel may be required to customers and/or other Parker sites (0%-10%).
- Bachelor's degree (BS) in Accounting. Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the job typically acquired through 2+ years of related experience.
- 3+ years Accounts Receivable and General Ledger Accounting experience.
- Aerospace industry experience preferred but not required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Pay, Benefits, Work Schedule Competitive Compensation- Pay Range: $72,650 to $121,050 annually
