Job DescriptionJoin Baker Tilly as a Tax Manager with our Not‑for‑Profit team. In this role you will deliver tax and business advisory services, oversee tax compliance, coach staff, and contribute to business growth.
What You Will Do- Provide tax, accounting and advisory services to Not‑for‑Profit clients.
- Oversee bookkeeping and prepare or compile financial statements.
- Review and analyze accounting records and reporting with clients, provide analysis and consultation.
- Deliver best‑in‑class customer service, responsive, timely, professional, and accurate.
- Lead and plan client engagements, evaluate processes and implement efficiencies, identify internal control issues.
- Recommend business and process improvements based on client operations.
- Manage and build client relationships; serve as liaison for issue resolution and additional services.
- Delegate work efforts, set goals, provide resources, remove obstacles, schedule deadlines.
- Maintain current knowledge of local, state, and federal tax practices.
- Assist with engagement staffing, billings/collections, and ensure profitability targets are met.
- Build strong relationships internally and externally with clients and community.
- Pursue professional development through learning and development programs.
- Support a positive work‑life balance and team collaboration.
- 4‑year degree; master’s or advanced degree desirable.
- CPA, law license, or enrolled agent.
- Five (5) years of experience providing corporate tax compliance, accounting, and advisory services in a professional services firm.
- Not‑for‑Profit industry experience preferred (but not required).
- Two (2) years of supervisory experience, mentoring and counseling associates.
- Demonstrated management, analytical, organizational, interpersonal, project management, and communication skills.
- Ability to lead and supervise others, provide exceptional client service, commit to continuous learning, and exhibit ethical knowledge and sense of urgency.
- Highly developed software and Microsoft Suite skills.
- Eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship preferred.
The national pay rate range is $91,220 - $172,990. In California the pay rate range is $112,500 - $172,950. Baker Tilly offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package to eligible employees.
