Sr. Fund Accountant
A privately held investment management firm focused on real estate is seeking a Senior Fund Accountant to support its private equity platform during a peak reporting and audit period. This role will work closely with fund operations, finance leadership, and external auditors to ensure accurate fund accounting and investor reporting across multiple investment vehicles.
Responsibilities- Support day‑to‑day fund accounting activities, including general ledger maintenance, journal entries, and reconciliations related to capital activity and investment transactions.
- Assist with quarterly and annual financial statement preparation in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
- Prepare and distribute investor reporting packages, including capital account statements and performance summaries.
- Calculate capital calls and distributions and prepare notices.
- Coordinate with auditors and tax providers during audit and compliance processes, preparing supporting schedules and responding to requests.
- Track capital contributions, distributions, and commitments across multiple funds and entities.
- Update fund models and key financial metrics used internally and externally.
- Enter data accurately into fund accounting systems (experience with Yardi or similar systems preferred).
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with asset management, acquisitions, and legal teams to ensure financial accuracy.
- Stay current on relevant accounting guidance related to investment funds and real estate structures.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 2–5 years of accounting experience, ideally in private equity, real‑estate funds, or public accounting with fund clients.
- Strong understanding of fund accounting and U.S. GAAP financial reporting.
- CPA or progress toward CPA preferred.
- Exposure to real‑estate funds, tax credit structures, or complex equity arrangements is a plus.
- Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
Compensation commensurate with experience. The position offers medical, dental, vision, and a 401(k) retirement plan.
