Assistant Controller

We are assisting one of our clients with their search for an Assistant Controller. Reporting to the Controller, the Assistant Controller will lead a team responsible for the accounting close, financial reporting, and accounts payable.

• Compensation: $135,000–$160,000 plus bonus

• Assist the Controller in managing the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process.
• Prepare and review journal entries, complex account reconciliations, and reporting schedules.
• Support the Controller in the preparation, review, and timely issuance of financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
• Review preparation of quarterly and annual sales/use tax returns.
• Assist with preparation for external and internal audits; coordinate supporting schedules and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with financial reporting standards, corporate and internal policies, and internal controls.

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting or Finance.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Prior supervisory experience.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
• Active or inactive CPA required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge and experience with corporate ERP/accounting systems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite; advanced Excel skills.
