Position Summary
This position will oversee the financial impact of various departments on the corporate budget and financial statements. Responsibilities include conducting pre‑ and post‑program analyses to assess program effectiveness and ensure accurate financial reporting. The role will also lead group reviews of budgeted expenses and participate in providing financial support to operations.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPriority One – 40%: Program Review and Expense Reconciliation, including in-depth review and analysis of department requests for funding of programs and services.
Priority Two – 20%: Financial Reporting and Analysis, including monthly variance reporting and monthly/quarterly forecasting.
Priority Three – 20%: Month‑End and Year‑End Close, including the distribution, collection and review of departmental accruals, and timely posting of all period‑ending journal entries into the G/L.
Priority Four – 10%: Audits – Conduct program audits to ensure that program results are documented and performance/goals are achieved as stated on request.
Priority Five – 10%: Department Support – Ad hoc data analysis and related support requested by business units.
Personally Performed Duties- Create and update reports to be used for expense tracking and presentation to senior finance management.
- Prepare weekly/monthly variance summaries (Actual vs Budget vs Forecast) with concise drivers, risks, and recommended actions.
- Manage accrual process by gathering inputs, validating support, submitting/recording accruals, and tracking reversals.
- Monitor budget pacing and forecast accuracy, identifying emerging overruns/underspends early and proposing mitigations.
- Ensure proper recognition of expenses and income so that the financials can be closed timely every month.
- Conduct program audits to ensure that program results are documented and performance/goals are achieved as stated on request.
- Work closely with assigned departments providing required support so they can better understand the financial impact of program spending.
- Manage activities of up to two direct reports to facilitate the actions stated above across multiple business units.
- Organize and lead quarterly and annual Business Plan review meetings with Business Units.
- BS in Finance/Accounting, or equivalent experience.
- MBA preferred.
- 5+ years in a management role overseeing corporate budgets.
- Automotive industry experience preferred.
- Experience managing one or more direct reports.
- Experience with SAP is strongly preferred.
- Experience communicating and coordinating with multiple departments.
- Experience working with marketing/advertising spend preferred but not required.
- Advanced Excel skills – experience with V‑lookup functions and pivot tables.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to lead and conduct meetings to drive alignment and decision‑making.
- Demonstrated analytical skills that allow for interpretation of finance‑related matters.
- Ability to work with multiple data sets to identify financial trends and behaviors.
- Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion, especially with regards to sensitive or confidential personnel or organizational matters.

$89,936.24 – $121,409
