KPMG is currently seeking a Tax Manager or Senior Manager to join our Development & Exempt Organizations practice.
Responsibilities- Provide tax compliance and/or advisory services to tax‑exempt organizations.
- Work as part of a dedicated team of experienced exempt organization professionals.
- Build and manage a portfolio of client relationships of varying size and scope and act as the point of contact for internal and external clients.
- Guide teams of professionals working on client projects.
- Manage risk and financial performance of engagements including billings, collections, and project budgets.
- Lead, participate in, and contribute to market and business activities external to the firm.
- Manage teams of tax professionals and assistants working on client projects.
- Participate in and contribute to market and business activities external to the firm.
- Minimum five years of recent focused exempt organization experience in an accounting firm, organization, and/or law firm.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university.
- Licensed CPA, EA, JD/LLM or completion of one of the following advanced degrees or professional designations: PHD, DBA, MBA, MDS, MEC, MED, MTX, MIE, MPOD, MPH, MHA, MPAD, MIR, MNPM, MPP, MIAFF, CSA, ARMC, CFA, CFE, CFF, CGFM, CHC, CIA, CMA, CNPM, FRM or CMI, or any other designation on KPMG’s approved credential listing. If the candidate does not possess at least one approved designation/credential at hiring, the candidate has one year from hire to obtain one.
- Strong knowledge of tax law preferred.
- Experience managing multiple client engagements and client service teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex information.
- Minimum eight years of recent focused exempt organization tax experience in an accounting firm, organization, and/or law firm.

Salary ranges for this role are $153,425–$332,695 in California, and vary by location.
