One morning and one afternoon shift is required during the day and schedules will depend upon the school assigned.
Your Impact- Stops traffic and assists children across intersections.
- Monitors traffic during assigned hours and location.
- Ability to communicate effectively with school‑age children, motorists and City personnel.

NOTE:
This position is limited to two hours per day.
Crossing Guards are compensated at a rate of $94.37 - $97.49 per day.
Certain City operational budgets may not include funding for mandated CalPERS employer contributions; therefore, a qualified candidate who is a current member of CalPERS may be restricted from temporary/part‑time employment with the City of Irvine.
Any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities. May require a valid California driver’s license.
All applicants must be able to pass the Public Safety background check process.
The ProcessThe selection process will include an interview and will involve a background investigation prior to appointment. All applicants must be able to pass the Public Safety background check process. This includes, but is not limited to, the review of: legal documents, police and driving records, credit profile, motor vehicle insurance, vehicle operation, prior employment records, and performance reviews.
