Policy and Government Programs Partner

A company is looking for a Partner (Policy & Government Programs) to lead initiatives and grow government funding in Washington, D.C.

Key Responsibilities Identify and source breakthrough concepts for Focused Research Organizations (FROs) and guide them from concept to launch Grow the government funding portfolio by building relationships with federal program officers and positioning the organization as a trusted partner Represent the organization in policy circles and provide governance on multiple FRO boards, ensuring alignment with scientific and funding requirements

Required Qualifications Experience in both startup and policy environments, with a proven ability to navigate federal processes Background in securing large federal grants or contracts for innovative research models Familiarity with federal funding mechanisms such as SBIR/STTR or cooperative agreements Experience in science policy, research funding, or institutional design Strong relationships with federal agencies such as NSF, DARPA, or similar organizations
