About the OpportunityGreat Park The City of Irvine seeks an experienced individual to oversee facilities, park operations, special events and personnel at the Great Park. The Public Safety Assistant - Part-time position will patrol the Great Park and surrounding areas 24 hours a day by vehicle, on foot or on bicycle. Additional duties include providing traffic control and security for large scale events, responding to emergencies, writing police reports, issuing citations, monitoring competitive/recreational sporting events and providing customer service.

Minimum QualificationsAssociate's degree in criminal justice, law enforcement or related field with at least one year experience in law enforcement activities, community service, or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities. Requires a valid California drivers' license. Depending on assignment, may be required to obtain certification in first aid and CPR. The classification of Public Safety Assistant is used throughout the Irvine Police Department in several roles and divisions.
