PositionSummary
As the Assistant Salon Manager, you’ll help lead day-to-day salon operations, inspire your team, and ensure every guest receives exceptional service. You’ll play a key role in coaching stylists, maintaining operational excellence, and supporting the Salon Manager in achieving performance goals in service, retail, and guest retention.
This position is ideal for a stylist or salon leader who is passionate about both artistry and leadership — someone who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and wants to grow their career in management.
Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the Salon Manager in daily operations, scheduling, and performance oversight.
Lead by example — providing exceptional guest experiences and professional service.
Coach and mentor stylists on technical skills, guest communication, and product recommendations.
Promote and model professional retail recommendations to help guests maintain salon results.
Monitor and drive key metrics, including average ticket, rebooking, product sales, and new guest retention.
Assist in recruiting, onboarding, and training new team members.
Ensure compliance with all California Board of Barbering & Cosmetology standards.
Maintain a clean, professional, and positive salon environment.
Act as Manager on Duty when the Salon Manager is unavailable.
QualificationsCurrent California Cosmetology License.
2+ years of professional salon experience (leadership experience preferred).
Strong knowledge of color, cutting, and professional retail products.
Proven ability to motivate, coach, and support team success.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Reliable, organized, and results-driven.
