Job Summary:

The Senior Vice President, Medical Affairs serves as the enterprise clinical and scientific leader responsible for shaping and executing Masimo’s global medical affairs strategy. This role provides executive oversight of clinical engagement, evidence generation, scientific communications, and medical governance to support innovation, regulatory strategy, and commercial adoption across the product portfolio.

The SVP partners closely with R&D, Quality & Regulatory, Clinical Affairs, Commercial, and Executive Leadership to ensure clinical credibility, patient impact, and scientific integrity are embedded across the organization. The role acts as a key external medical voice for Masimo, engaging clinicians, researchers, health systems, and industry stakeholders to advance clinical outcomes and support strategic growth.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Define and lead the global Medical Affairs strategy aligned to enterprise priorities, product innovation, and long‑term clinical vision.
  • Serve as a senior clinical thought leader, providing medical and scientific guidance to Executive Leadership, Engineering, Regulatory, and Commercial teams.
  • Oversee medical strategy across clinical evidence generation, publications, investigator relationships, and scientific engagement.
  • Partner with Clinical Affairs and Regulatory leadership to support study design, clinical validation strategies, and regulatory submissions.
  • Provide executive oversight of medical communications, advisory boards, and clinician education initiatives to ensure scientific accuracy and compliance.
  • Represent the organization externally with key opinion leaders, professional societies, research institutions, and global health stakeholders.
  • Support commercialization strategies through medical insights that inform market positioning, value messaging, and clinical adoption.
  • Ensure adherence to ethical standards, medical governance frameworks, and global compliance requirements related to medical affairs activities.
  • Lead cross‑functional collaboration across Engineering, Product, Quality, Regulatory, Legal, and Commercial organizations to integrate clinical perspective into enterprise decisions.
  • Build and develop a high‑performing Medical Affairs organization, including leadership development, succession planning, and organizational capability building.
  • Direct and manage departmental budgets, headcount planning, and strategic resource allocation aligned with business objectives.
  • Hire, develop, and coach senior medical leaders and staff; conduct performance management and talent planning activities.
  • Act as a senior escalation point for complex medical or clinical issues impacting product strategy, safety considerations, or external reputation.
  • Provide medical leadership during enterprise initiatives, organizational transformations, and strategic partnerships.
  • Perform additional executive responsibilities and strategic projects as assigned.

Experience:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • MD or equivalent medical degree with active or eligible licensure.
  • 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in Medical Affairs, Clinical Strategy, or related functions within medical technology, life sciences, or healthcare innovation environments.
  • Demonstrated executive leadership experience operating at an enterprise or global scale.
  • Deep understanding of clinical evidence development, regulatory environments, and healthcare delivery ecosystems.
  • Proven ability to influence cross‑functional strategy and executive decision‑making.
  • Strong external presence and credibility with clinicians, researchers, and industry stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience leading medical affairs within a high‑growth med‑tech or digital health organization.
  • Experience partnering closely with Engineering or Product Development organizations.
  • Advanced leadership experience across global markets.

Education:

Medical degree (MD or equivalent) required; additional advanced education such as MBA, MPH, or related graduate degree is preferred.

Physical requirements/Work Environment

This position primarily works in an office environment and requires frequent sitting, standing, and walking. Daily use of a computer and other digital devices is required. This role may require standing for extended periods when facilitating meetings or walking through facilities. The role requires collaboration across global teams and may involve travel to clinical sites, conferences, and corporate locations.
