Job Summary

As a Wild Rivers EMT you are responsible for providing emergency medical care and first aid to guests and staff at the waterpark. This role ensures the health and safety of all park visitors by responding quickly to medical incidents, assisting in safety protocols and collaborating with lifeguards, management and security teams.

Essential Job Functions
  • Provide immediate emergency medical care to guests and employees, including assessment, treatment, stabilization and transport coordination in accordance with California EMT regulations.
  • Respond promptly to medical calls across the waterpark, utilizing appropriate first aid, CPR and trauma-care protocols.
  • Monitor and maintain all first-aid equipment, AEDs, medical supplies and treatment areas to ensure readiness and compliance with park guidelines.
  • Accurately document all medical incidents, treatments and visitor interactions in accordance with company policies and California EMS reporting standards.
  • Communicate effectively with lifeguards, security, supervisors and local EMS when additional care or transport is required.
Additional Responsibilities and Requirements
  • Participate in safety trainings and continuing education as required by California EMS and park policy.
  • Assist with lost children, guest concerns or non-medical incidents as part of the guest services and safety team.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional first-aid facility at all times.
  • Support lifeguard teams during major incidents or multi-patient events.
  • Uphold park standards of guest service, professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Must be able to work weekends, holidays, extended shifts, through extreme heat and peak attendance periods.
Qualifications, Education, and Experience
  • Current California EMT certification (EMT-I or higher) in good standing.
  • Current CPR/AED for Healthcare Providers (AHA or equivalent).
  • Experience in emergency response, lifeguarding, aquatics or recreation environments preferred.

  • Strong patient assessment and trauma management abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially with children and families.
  • Ability to remain calm, confident, and decisive during high-stress or life-threatening situations.
  • Strong teamwork and situational awareness in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
  • Competence in documentation, radio communication and safety protocols.
Cognitive and Physical Demands
  • Must be able to stand, walk, climb stairs and respond rapidly throughout the entire waterpark for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to work in extreme heat, humidity, sun exposure and around water for extended shifts.
  • Must be able to think clearly, make quick decisions and recall EMS protocols under pressure.
  • Visual and auditory ability to quickly identify hazards, recognize medical emergencies and communicate through radios and alarms.
