Job SummaryThe Orthopedic Technician applies and removes all forms of splints and casts within the Ortho Clinic and upon request in the inpatient setting. Is also responsible for providing education related to cast care.
Pay RangeMinimum $28.07 Midpoint $37.18 Maximum $46.31 Rate of pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, education, as well as position requirements.
Experience- Required:
Minimum one (1) year of medical field experience with casting and splinting application and removal. - Preferred:
Previous experience in a pediatric orthopedic clinic.
- Required:
High School Diploma/ GED or equivalent.
- Required:
Previous training as an orthopedic technician, medic, or emergency medical technician (EMT).
- Required:
Strong verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal relationship and collaboration skills. Ability to set goals and judge results in accordance with the highest standards and respect; advance care through development of new ideas and technology; promote teamwork to achieve CHOC's mission; and understand and exceed customer expectations, effectively solve complex patient care and organizational problems, role model positive and professional behavior. - Preferred:
Bilingual
- English and Spanish.
- Required:
Basic Life Support (BLS). - Orthopedic Technologist Certified (OTC) or Registered Orthopedic Technician (ROT) or 1 additional year of medical field experience with casting and splinting application and removal.
- Preferred:
Registered Orthopedic Technician.

- High energy level Lift and carry 40-50 lbs. Push/pull +/- 150-200 lbs. (Patients on bed, stretcher) Lateral transfer 150-200 lbs. (ie. Patient). Physical Activity Requirements:
