Salary Range: $27.00 - $29.00 Base+Commission/month

• Assist Members and Department Heads with their event planning needs. Promote the club’s dining facilities for private banquets, business and social meetings and other member-related activities by assisting the Director of Catering. Develop contracts for and assist with administrative and operational aspects of preparing and serving events. Work with catering, food & beverage, culinary and other departments to assure that the Members’ expectations are met and exceeded.
• Eager to learn and be a team player who takes pride in themselves and their job performance. A hands on approach is essential. Maintains a positive attitude and highly organized self-starter.
• Support Catering Director in keeping accurate Banquet Event Orders for each event. Assist in arranging all event needs, including but not limited to decorations, flowers, linen, rental equipment, staging, entertainment, menu cards, and audio-visual needs for private events, club events or special dining room requests.
• Assist in planning, promoting, and generating enthusiasm and interest for the Club’s diverse social programs. Present to oversee the greeting and serving of the guests for both private and Club events.
• Contribute to revenue growth opportunities and ensure timely, accurate invoice processing, banquet billing and arranges prompt payment for all events.
• Help members arrange business meetings, Club Events, and internal meetings. Assist Catering Director in planning banquets, luncheons, meetings, weddings, dances and other social events; obtain pertinent information needed for Member planning.
• Develop and distribute event contracts and Banquet Event Orders (BEO). Transmit necessary information to and coordinate event planning with production, serving and housekeeping staffs; arrange for printing of menus, procuring of decorations, entertainment, and other special requests, etc.
• Inspect finished arrangements; may be present to oversee the actual greeting and serving of guests. Handle event inquiries and care about the details that go into a successful event.
• Maintain correspondence with golf and wellness departments and internal department heads to determine catering needs for Club events. Liaison between catering department and members; provide catering guidelines, menus, directions, photos, etc. to Members.
• Maintain past and potential member files. Knowledge of various drinks, sales techniques, member relations practices, telephone etiquette, applicable liquor policies and procedures and Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Analyze functions to determine future needs and to implement necessary changes for increased quality. Ensure the security of valuables (club’s, guests’, and members’ property) during catered events.
• Has a heartfelt hospitality attitude. Attend staff meetings. Create room layout diagrams containing banquet item placement and related function details. Update event and BEO information for all affected staff. Serve as liaison between kitchen, service, and management staff. Assist in maintaining club’s master calendar. Perform special projects as assigned.

• Thorough knowledge of banquet operations including foods, beverages, service techniques, and guest interaction.
• Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, with members and employees.
• Ability to perform multiple tasks and prioritize in an efficient manner.
• Exercise independent judgment within established policy and procedure guidelines.
• A minimum of 2 years previous catering experience at a club, hotel or fine dining establishment.
• College degree preferred or equivalent requirement.
