Job Summary
The Senior Human Resources Generalist supports HR Business Partners in delivering a full range of HR services within Masimo's dynamic environment. This position plays a critical role in executing and enhancing core HR processes across the employee lifecycle, including employee relations, organizational changes, performance management, engagement initiatives, training, and compliance with employment laws.
Acting as a trusted resource to employees and managers, the Senior HR Generalist independently manages employee relations matters and provides guidance on day-to-day HR issues, while partnering closely with HR Business Partners on more complex or strategic initiatives. This role operates with a high level of autonomy within defined scope and serves as a key extension of HR Business Partners in managing day-to-day people matters.

Duties & Responsibilities- Support HR Business Partners in delivering HR services across assigned client groups
- Serve as a primary point of contact for employees and managers, providing guidance on HR policies, procedures, and day-to-day HR matters
- Independently manage employee relations matters, including investigations, performance concerns, corrective actions, and involuntary separations; assess risk, recommend appropriate action, and elevate higher-risk situations as appropriate
- Coach and influence managers on employee matters, including performance management, feedback, documentation, and policy application
- Execute onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring a compliant, efficient, and positive employee experience
- Manage employee lifecycle changes (e.g., promotions, transfers, organizational updates, compensation changes) with a high level of accuracy and judgment
- Ensure compliance with federal, state (California), and local employment laws and company policies; independently manage workplace accommodations and the interactive process; proactively identify and elevate potential risks
- Partner cross-functionally with Payroll, Talent Acquisition, Legal, and other teams to ensure aligned and efficient HR operations
- Support and drive execution of HR programs, including performance management, engagement initiatives, and training efforts
- Track and analyze trends in employee relations, turnover, and other HR metrics; provide actionable insights and recommendations to HRBPs
- Identify and lead process improvements to enhance efficiency, scalability, and employee experience
- Support HR audits, documentation, and maintenance of employee records to ensure compliance
- Manage unemployment (EDD) claims and workers' compensation cases, including follow-up and resolution
- Develop and distribute HR communications, tools, and resources for employees and managers
- Lead or contribute to HR projects and initiatives, driving execution and outcomes
- Exercise sound judgment in interpreting policies and making recommendations with minimal oversight
Preferred Qualifications and Experience
Minimum Qualifications
- 5-8+ years of progressive Human Resources experience
- Strong employee relations experience, including independently managing investigations and workplace issues
- Demonstrated ability to coach and influence managers
- Solid knowledge of California employment law and HR best practices
- Ability to operate with a high level of autonomy while effectively partnering with HR Business Partners
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Strong HRIS proficiency (e.g., Workday, Oracle), including transactions, reporting, data audits, and workforce analytics support.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience in medical device, healthcare, or a regulated industry
- Experience leading HR projects or process improvement initiatives
- HR certification (PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SCP)
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
Language requirements- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Ability to draft clear business correspondence, policies, and employer communications.
- Ability to facilitate professional conversations with employees, managers, and cross-functional partners.
Compensation
:
The anticipated salary range for this position is $88,000 - $108,000 plus benefits. Actual placement within the range is dependent on multiple factors, including but not limited to skills, education, and experience. This position also qualifies for up to 10% annual bonus based on Company, department, and individual performance.
