Senior Cloud & Reliability Engineer

Schedule: Mon‑Fri 9am‑6pm at our Headquarters located 1920 Main St, Irvine, CA 92614

What You'll Do:

• Maintain and optimize the current Linode VPS environment, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Conduct a "Build vs. Migrate" analysis; decide whether to stay on Linode, lead a transition to AWS, Azure, GCP, or partner with a compliance platform like Vaquito.
• Implement SLIs/SLOs and automated monitoring for a VPS-heavy environment; responsible for uptime, disaster recovery, and incident response.
• Bring automation to the current setup to ensure VPS instances are reproducible and secure (Infrastructure as Code).

Secondary & Cross-Functional Impact:

• Information Security (Sec Ops):
  Hardening Linux servers, managing firewalls (Cloud Firewalls / IPTables), ensuring encryption at rest and in transit.
• HIPAA Compliance:
  Technical lead for HIPAA audits and security documentation.
• Quality Assurance:
  Partner with developers to create automated staging environments and deployment "smoke tests" to reduce production bugs.
• Software Engineering (Minor):
  Contribute to core application codebase or develop internal tools to manage infrastructure.

Requirements & Qualifications:

• 5+ years in Dev Ops, SRE, or Systems Administration.
• Experience with Linode (or similar VPS providers) and at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Proven track record of moving workloads between providers or modernizing legacy VPS setups.
• Direct experience with HIPAA or similar regulatory frameworks.
• Strong understanding of VPCs, subnets, VPNs, and load balancing in a cloud context.
